Independent Study Physical Education (ISPE) is a course designed for students who do not want to take a regular P.E. class and have the discipline and planning skills to manage their own P.E. course via ISPE. Students may earn ISPE hours by working out in a gym or participating in a class or as part of a sports team. Students working out in a gym or taking a class must fill out a contract, write several essays and have hours signed off each month by their authorizing supervisor (gym staff or teacher). Students on a sports team are not required to complete any paperwork; their coach will sign them off at the end of the season.
